School/Activities: Angelo really enjoys art, singing and playing with his toy cars. 

Home Life: Angelo's mother Salvacion and father Jose are both street vendors.  With one eight year old brother Joshua, Angelo's family survives with approximately $48 a month. 

Living arrangements include a two bedroom, kitchen and living room concrete dwelling.  Wood-framed beds (two), electricity, running water,a coal stove and toilet are all available.

Sampa Mondal

Health: Last measured Sampa was 4 feet four inches tall and weighed 49 pounds.

School/Activities: Sampa enjoys language studies, drawing and indoor games.  Much of her physical activity is based on general housework.

Home Life:  Sampa has a sixteen year old brother.  Both children live with their mother Rupali, a homemaker and father Sunil, a driver.

School/Activities: Oscar's favorite school subject is grammar and he enjoys playing soccer, running errands and drawing.

Home Life: Father Marcos is a bricklayer and mother Maria Lorena a homemaker.  In their dirt floored wooden house two brothers and a sister round out the family of six who share five beds.

A toilet and running water are available.  Cooking and heating is done with a earthen stove.  Electricity is not available and the family survives on approximately $126 a month.

Alexander Javier Linares

Age: 4

Country: Dominican Republic

Health: Last measured Oscar was 2 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 30 pounds.

School/Activities: Alexander's favorite school subject is Art and he enjoys playing with toys and cars.

Home Life: Father Dionicio is a Cabinet Maker and mother Ana is a homemaker.  In their concrete floored wooden house Alexander lives with both parents in a single room house.

A toilet and running water are available.  Cooking and heating is done with a gas stove.  Electricity is  available and the family survives on approximately $150 a month.

Ana Berenice Quintero Chavez

Age: 11

Country: Mexico

Health: Last measured Ana was 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighed 76 pounds.

School/Activities: Ana's favorite school subject is grammar and she enjoys playing hide and seek, dancing and singing.

Home Life: Father Narciso is a Mechanic and mother Maria is a street vendor.  In their three room concrete floored concrete block house Ana shares space with both parents two brothers and a sister.

A toilet and water from a storage tank are available.  Cooking and heating is done with a gas stove.  Electricity is  available and the family survives on approximately $190 a month.
