VPSI Appraised as CMMI for Services and Support Level 3

VPSI completed a Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) and received a final finding that VPSI was conforming to and operating at a Maturity Level 3 for Services under CMMI. CMMI – Capability Maturity Model Integration – is a process improvement framework incorporated by VPSI to operate at and improve upon our high level of performance in support of customer and company objectives.

The CMMI Institute, a commercial association of Carnegie Mellon University, accepted the findings of the appraisal completed on July 25, 2014.

VPSI’s Mr. Michael Lillie was honored as a part of the NEN team that received a SPAWAR Lightning Bolt Award for our participation in a cyber security response effort.
VPSI understands the criticality of cyber security; when the initiative was launched VPSI quickly reacted and provided extended support to address this Department of Navy (DON) action.  As we fight a consolidated battle against real world threats our team continues to be on the tip of spear in reactive, as well as proactive, solution implementation and technical security enhancements to the Navy’s Fleet.

“VPSI is proud to continue to support the NEN Program Office and be a part of these significant missions” commented Mr. Travis Larkin (VPSI PM).

VPSI engineers recently concluded NMEC Remote Exploitation Solution testing and training in Germany.
Deployed to support both the NMEC operators and their supported DoD partners, forensic IT scientists, the trip was lauded by NMEC Director of Operations as a great teaming effort between NMEC Operations and IT.
Our engineering and testing efforts identified potential network transmission issues that were not present in the NRES development environment. We also discovered key future new requirements as we performed training for site personnel which will allow NMEC to better tailor NRES for their external customers.
“VPSI efforts will pave the way for production FOC on the NRES prototype efforts” said Chad Sumpter, (VPSI NCR GM) speaking on behalf of the program. “VPSI is honored to be a part of such leading technology delivery significant capability to the edge.”

VPSI engineers recently concluded ground breaking IT prototype testing overseas for an Intelligence Community (IC) client.

Deployed to support IC operators and their supported DoD partners, as well as forensic IT scientists, the trip was lauded by the client Director of Operations as a great teaming effort between IC Operations and IT development efforts.

We also helped identify key, future new requirements, as we performed training for site personnel which will allow the IC client to better tailor solution for their external customers.

The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation announced on March 20, 2014 the debut of the “Cyber Center Of Excellence” (CCOE), in conjunction with the release of the “Cybersecurity in San Diego- An Economic Impact and Industry Assessment Report”.

Mr. Tony Nufer (VPSI Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Southwest Region), representing the San Diego Military Advisory Council (SDMAC) and VPSI, is a member of the advisory committee of the CCOE. The advisory committee provided strategic business advise, guidance, and information in support of the formation of the CCOE, as well as direction and review for the Industry Assessment Report.

As a provider of Information Systems and Application Certification and Accreditation, to the DoD and other U.S. Government agencies, “VPSI’s involvement with the founding of the CCOE is key to our Information Assurance strategic business capability, and VPSI’s role in the growing importance of Information Security in Defense, Government, and Commercial business” said Mr. Nufer. “VPSI is proud to be a part of such an important regional, industry, and national initiative” he added.

VPSI has been awarded GSA Schedule 70 Professional IT Services number GS-35F-226BA, offering a full range of professional IT Services.

This five-year contract allows for Federal customers to efficiently purchase the wide range of VPSI IT services. The GSA establishes long-term, government-wide contracts with commercial vendors to streamline and standardize the process of procuring products and services for the entire Federal government. VPSI’s award as a GSA Schedule 70 vendor enables all government agencies to obtain our services at approved pricing, from a trusted and responsible vendor.

VPSI has completed a corporate reorganization and established a new Executive and Management Team to support the company as it moves into 2014. The changes and additions capitalize on the VPSI’s solid foundation as a well established, responsible small business and the holder of contracts focused on Information Technology, Information Assurance, Systems Engineering, and Program Management for the Federal Government.

Paul Ilg, Chairman and CEO. Mr. Ilg, previously serving as the President of VPSI, assumed the positions of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Operating from VPSI’s corporate offices in San Diego, Mr. Ilg leads the company’s management, organization and business process operations improvement initiative as well as directing VPSI’s business development goals. He has been a business executive for several defense industry businesses after retiring from the Navy as a distinguished aviator and leader.

Kieran Boylan, CFO. Mr. Boylan was named as the director of VPSI’s Shared Services and as the Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the implementation of improved finance, accounting, and contracting programs within VPSI. Under his leadership, VPSI has integrated a new accounting system, participated in advance training and instruction, and established fully Federal Acquisition Regulation compliant policies and processes. Mr. Boylan joined VPSI with extensive experience in corporate financial management of major contract programs, and as an Adjunct Professor teaching accounting and business curriculum.

Chad Sumpter, General Manager National Capital Region. Mr. Sumpter manages all VPSI operations in the National Capital Region. Operating from VPSI office in McLean, Virginia, he is focused on supporting Information Assurance and cyber programs, across a customer base including the Department of Defense, Department of Education, and several Intelligence agencies. Mr. Sumpter is a recognized subject matter expert within the Information Assurance community with a proven history supporting various Agencies, Services, and Commands.

Dwayne Green, General Manager Southeast Region. Mr. Green, operating from VPSI’s office in the New Orleans, Louisiana area, manages VPSI’s Southeast business to include Navy programs in Charleston, South Carolina and the Center for Information Dominance in Pensacola, Florida. As a recognized data center operations subject matter expert, he leads VPSI’s Data Center Consolidation efforts. Mr. Green has an extensive industry and government background managing Department of Defense Information Technology programs.

Tony Nufer, General Manager Southwest Region. Mr. Nufer manages VPSI’s Navy programs providing systems engineering for communications satellites, Information Technology, and command level financial management services. Operating from the San Diego office, he also has several corporate responsibilities as the Chief Operating Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer. Mr. Nufer‘s background includes a Navy career, business management, and opportunity development in the defense industry.

VPSI’s reorganized Leadership Team is serving the corporation as it increases its contract portfolio and transitions new and developed capabilities to an expanding customer base while managing the newly developed Corporate Responsibility Program
